EXHIBITION ROBERT PIERINI

From March 16 to May 31, 2020 will be held a retrospective exhibition of the 40-year career of glass artist Robert Pierini, founder of the family business. The opening will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

40 years of Artistic creations

The year 2020 is a very important year for the PIERINI family. It is indeed 40 years that this family is installed in this old olive oil mill dating from the 15th century, in Biot, in the French Riviera. This unique place was spotted by the wife of Robert PIERINI, Mrs. Francine BEGOU, who sees in this historic building the ideal place to create the workshop of her husband, and their art gallery.

In 1980, Robert Pierini and his wife Francine renovate the mill and create the workshop. This year marks the starting point of the artistic career of this glassblower like no other, of great shyness and huge generosity.

His Art work

When France asks him to represent this art in Japan, he will return from this trip full of inspiration and create works with very Japanese motives. For 40 years, he will create exceptional glass works: « cord foot », « bamboo bottle », Cretan form, sulphides like no other. It will evolve later in the sculpture, more blowing, little color, but always with this signature recognizable among all.

The Exhibition

This exhibition, retrospective of his 40 years of career, is a way for his son and his daughter-in-law Antoine PIERINI and his wife Gaelle, to pay homage to Robert and Francine, thanks to whom they were able to make this magnificent place the first art center of the glass of the Côte d’Azur, new official name of the place in 2020.

From March 16 to May 31, 2020, this exhibition will present 40 exceptional works, representing the 40-year career of the artist. We will have the opportunity to discover the evolution of his work, his different signatures, the latest sculptures for sale (few). These 40 works will then travel to other art galleries in France and Europe. The occasion for some collectors to position themselves on works which, every year, since the retirement of the artist, take value.
