From August 08, 2020 to January 10, 2021, Germany’s largest private glass museum has chosen to honor the works of Antoine Pierini and his artist friends. “Antoine Pierini and Friends” is therefore an exhibition which brings together no less than 40 sculptures and installations from our collection.
THE MAKING OFF of the exhibition
Dr. Ulrike Hoppe-Oehl, the director of this beautiful glass museum, has known our place for years and closely follows the developments of our Glass Art Center as well as Antoine’s creations. In 2018, during her stay in BIOT, we presented her our new artist residency program created in 2015 and the resulting creations. Over the years, the foundation has acquired more than thirty works created in our workshop.
The exhibition « Antoine Pierini and Friends » brings together major artists of contemporary world glass art, all gathered around Antoine with glass sculptures by Rob Stern, Raven Skyriver, Kelly O’dell, Mathieu Grodet, Ondrej Novotny , Ethan Stern, Gabe Feenan, and of course Master Robert Pierini, as well as Nicolas Laty who has been working in our workshop for over 11 years. It is also an opportunity to introduce the German public to emerging artists, such as Galla Theodosis and Leo, where their works will be exhibited for the first time in this country will complete this exhibition.
This event is the continuity of our mission to promote its artists in the field, to make them known in France and in Europe. Large collectors of contemporary glass art have the opportunity to acquire extraordinary works.
A FEW WORDS ABOUT LETTE GLASMUSEUM
This private museum was established in 1996 by Lilly and Kurt Ernsting as a continuation of their foundation to promote art and culture. These great collectors have succeeded in building up over the years the largest private collection of glass sculptures in the country and even in Europe. All the techniques of glass art are represented there, from glass paste to the technique of glass with a cane. In this case, the latter is the specific feature of all the sculptures produced in our glass art center and which will be exhibited at the Museum.
The museum also has an exceptional garden which was designed by Kurt and Lilly Ernsting. The museum trail extends outside with magnificent installations, to the delight of visitors
